I Heart Faces Week 8- Messy Face!

This is only my second week participating in I Heart Faces. And I have to tell you, I heart it. heh. I know, I'm so witty.

You can participate in, or see other entries, at the I Heart Faces website. Just click my little link on the site name. :)

This week, they singled out us beginners... Which in one way, I don't like- because I can only enter one photo, not one each for kids and adults, like last time. But I guess this balances out, since they asked that if you enter, you be open to constructive criticism. I would be more than grateful for any suggestions or help all you more experienced photographers could offer! Have at it... Just be nice, please :)

And now, here is my entry for the I HEART FACES Beginner week "Messy faces" category:

As mentioned above, please feel free to offer any help and/ or information on what you would have done to improve the picture. I am not great in photoshop (if you're experienced, you can probably tell!) but I did play around with this photo in there to try and punch it up a little. I desaturated the background and tried to brighten up her face some... What do you think?

Edited to add: I really should learn my lesson, trying to change font size within my posts. It always changes a ton of the post, rather than just the sentence I'm going for... And then I can't get it to revert back. DOH! Sorry the text at the top is so miniscule.

Oh my goodness.. she has the MOST beautiful eyes! Sweet little bubble princess.. she's adorably messy! I don't have Photoshop, so I can't give any advice, but I think the picture looks great! Good luck...

Oh, that's a sweet sweet face. My best advice would be to hand around at Pioneer Woman's site a bit. That and use curves in Photoshop. Curves under Image, Adjust. Then brightness and contrast. Those are my best tips. Hope they come in handy.

(Oh, and I mentioned the vignetting back on my page for you after your question.)

Oh! Look at that bubbly goodness! I think it's a great photo. I know NOTHING about Photoshop. My hubs got it for us but it really intimidates me. Yikes! LOL

I don't know how to improve it, but it's a gorgeous picture of her.

CUTE PIC!! She is adorable! I got your comment you left on my blog. Thanks for the nice remarks. Now to answer your question...I just started using Photoshop Elements. I lightened my pic up in there. I think the reason his eyes appear so dark is because of the white background, but I did select them and then use the unsharp mask tool to make them more defined. Don't know if you are familiar with this program. I LOVE IT! Thanks again, and good luck. Your pic is great!

Adorable photo. I love it just the way it is. I have Photoshop, and I attempt to use it (strong emphasis on attempt), but I do not know the ins and outs of it. Still, I love your photo just the way it is.
